Explore Lake Chelan’s Parks & Waterfront Access
When you stay at the Midtowner Motel, you’re just minutes away from some of Lake Chelan’s most beautiful parks and public beaches—perfect for swimming, picnicking, and enjoying the sunshine.
Don Morse Park, located right in downtown Chelan, is the area’s main recreation hub with 40 acres of green space and more than 2,000 feet of sandy waterfront. This popular park offers direct lake access, so you can spend your day swimming, paddleboarding, boating, or simply relaxing along the shore. Families love the shaded picnic areas, large children’s playground, and the grassy lawns that stretch right up to the lake.
From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the park comes alive with activities like the 18-hole natural green-grass Putting Course, Rally Alley, LakeRider Sports, and Shoreline Watercraft and Boat Rentals, where you can rent boats, jet skis, paddleboards, and more. The park also features newly resurfaced sand volleyball courts, basketball, tennis, and pickleball courts, and a skate park, offering something for every age and interest.
Picnic shelters at Don Morse Park can be reserved for birthday parties, company picnics, reunions, or weddings—simply contact the City of Chelan at 509-682-8023 for details.
Just a mile west of town, Lakeside Park offers a quieter alternative with a sandy beach, calm swimming area, picnic tables, and shaded lawns perfect for relaxing by the water. The park’s gradual shoreline makes it a favorite for families with small children.
Other nearby parks include Chelan Riverwalk Park, which features a paved walking loop around the river with benches, flower gardens, and lake views, and Beebe Bridge Park, located just across the bridge in Chelan Falls, known for its wide-open spaces, boat launch, and RV camping.
Whether you’re planning a short visit or an extended stay at the Midtowner Motel, you’ll find that Lake Chelan’s parks offer endless opportunities for outdoor recreation, lake access, and family fun—all just minutes from your room.
